New headline: Sacred Heart Men’s Hockey shuts down Niagara University with a 6-0 shut out.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., — The Sacred Heart University Men’s Ice Hockey team shut out the Eagles of Niagara University 6-0 at Webster Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon game.
FIRST PERIOD: Jason Cotton tallied the first goal for the Pioneers with a wrap-around goal from Braeden Tuck and Luke Lush, giving Cotton his 18th goal of the year and a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period.

SECOND PERIOD: Sacred Heart scored three more goals in the second period from senior and co-captain, Marc Johnstone on the power-play to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. The goal was assisted by senior, Mike Lee.
Late in the second period, Evan Wisocky rang in his first goal of the season with a beautiful centered pass from sophomore Nick Boyagian.
The Pioneers got themselves another goal only two minutes later, Jordan Kaplan tipped in a slap shot from Max Luukko to end the second period with a 4-0 lead.

Sacred Heart outshot Niagara 13-2 in the second period.
THIRD PERIOD: Vito Bavaro got into the scoring fun in the third period and marked his 16th goal of the season with a one timer from Jordan Kaplan on the power-play.
Jason Cotton found himself another goal at the end of the third period, to close out the game with a 6-0 win. The Texas native leads the team in points.
Sacred Heart record excels to 19-9-2 and still remains 2nd in the Atlantic Hockey League and 20th in the country.
