Well, hello. My name is Mia Bonadies and if you know me, you know, I love sports. Hockey especially. Growing up in Hamden, a known hockey town in Connecticut, I became submerged into it and I fell in love with the fast-paced game. My father is a die-hard New York Rangers fan, which meant, I loved the Rangers too. I started watching the NHL seriously when I was a freshman in high school. And by seriously, I mean, I knew up and coming players from the collegiate and junior level, injury reports and who lead the league in points, assists and goals.
The New York Rangers will always have a special place in my heart, but the more I learned about hockey and the more I watched, I started to love other teams and other players.
I began to follow the Toronto Maple Leafs after they got Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. I follow the Tampa Bay Lightning after the Rangers decided to dish half their team to Florida. I admire Sidney Crosby’s game and Connor McDavid’s skill. I like Tyler Seguin, Kevin Hayes, and Mats Zuccarello. I’m all over the map.
My knowledge of sports expands wider than just ice hockey. I attended The University of Alabama for 3 years before transferring to Southern and found a new love in college football. Football in the South is a different world and going to classes and seeing Jalen Hurts next to me was just a normal Tuesday and sitting next to Nick Saban at church was just another Sunday.
I also love tennis. I started playing tennis when I was 5 and continued to high school where I was captain my junior and senior year. I love Maria Sharapova, Coco Gauff, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
